What project were you working on?
My project was in Cosmology. Two foremost solutions to the flatness and homogeneity problems in Cosmology are Inflation (scalar field) and Bounce. It turns out that, given the scalar power spectrum (perhaps from CMB data), there exists an inflationary model as well as a bounce model that agree with it and there is a duality transformation between the two. The same is true for a given tensor power spectrum also. My project involved starting with an inflationary model, performing the duality transformation (say for scalar case) to get the corresponding bounce model, compare the tensor perturbation spectrum of the two and vice versa. The research in this area (with more precise data from the CMB, gravitational waves in the future) may help in deciding whether inflation occurred in the early universe or do we live in a periodic bouncing universe.

Is the professor still taking students under the same project?
Don't know
Courses that were part of the curriculum/ additional courses that helped you? Any other tools/softwares that helped you during your project?
General Relativity and QM 3 as courses and Mathematica as a software.
Any feedback or further details you'd like to add?
The prof would give you research papers to read for which you may not have enough technical background knowledge. It usually doesn't bother the prof, but is a great trouble for us. The progress becomes terribly slow. Type of work is mainly reading and understanding research papers and reproducing their calculation.
